Spirit Airlines Has Fire In Flight, 10 Hospitalized In Florida
A luggage bin erupted into flames.
It’s a terrifying scenario. You’re on a flight to sunny Florida, ready for a week’s vacation on a warm beach with a cool drink in your hand. Then a fire breaks out in the cabin.
That’s what happened on a Spirit Airlines flight on its way to Orlando yesterday. And it wasn’t just a clsoe call. By the time the jet made an emergency landing in Jacksonville, 10 passengers had to be hospitalized. Spirit Airlines Flight 259 took off from Dallas at about 2 p.m. yesterday. While in flight, a passenger noticed smoke coming from an overhead storage bin and yelled “fire”. Other passengers and crew responded quickly by opening the bin to find a backpack that was actively engulfed in flames. As smoke filled the airplane, the flames were extinguished and the pilot recieved clearance for an emergency landing in Jacksonville. After an investigation, it was learned that a battery that was in a passenger’s backpack was the culprit. The man said he’d been charging his vaping device during the flight. Firefighters say the vape battery overheated and caught fire.
A member of the crew told investigators that the fire took about 20 minutes to put out, saying one man tried o extinguish the blaze by pouring water on it. Unfortunately, electrical fires cannot be put out by water. The item was evntually placed in a bucket, where it finally stopped burning. Only one person was initially taken to the hospital, but several more experienced symptoms as the day passed. Airline crew members were among those who were hospitalized. The injuries were considered non life-threatening. The Federal Aviation administration is investigating the incident. Source: WFLA.com

11 Great ‘This Is Spinal Tap’ Quotes That Aren’t 'These go to 11!'
The iconic cult classic This is Spinal Tap was released in theaters on March 2, 1984. It is easily one of the most quotable, funniest films of all time to the point where even the biggest rock stars can own up to its painfully true moments.
Obviously, the most popular line from the film is, “These go to 11,” but there are so many other golden nuggets in this brilliant mockumentary. In honor of the anniversary of the film’s theatrical release, here are 11 other quotes from This is Spinal Tap that aren’t “These go to 11!”
(Note: This list is numbered, not ranked. Ranking each line would be like asking us which Spinal Tap drummer was our favorite. It’s simply too hard of a question to answer.)
But First, Details on the Spinal Tap Sequel
News of a long-awaited sequel to This is Spinal Tap was confirmed in May 2022 by Deadline. At that time, Spinal Tap II was slated for release in March 2024. Of course, the release has since been pushed back to an unknown date.
Reiner confirmed he’d be reprising his role of Marty DiBergi. Additionally, Michael McKean, Harry Shearer and Christopher Guest are on board as David St. Hubbins, Derek Smalls and Nigel Tufnel, respectively. (No word yet on who has the unfortunate task of playing the drummer.)
As for the premise of the film, Reiner said it centers around a final concert of sorts. Spinal Tap’s manager, Ian Faith, passed away. His wife inherited a contract that stated the band still owed Faith one more concert. (In real life, actor Tony Hendra, who played Faith, died in March 2021 at age 79.)
Reiner’s DiBergi character documents the final concert, which is reportedly being shot in the style of Martin Scorsese’s The Last Waltz. In May 2022, Reiner told Deadline that DiBergi feels he owes it to Spinal Tap to capture this concert. He says the band was upset with the first film.
“When I heard they might get back together, I was a visiting adjunct teacher’s helper at the Ed Wood School of Cinematic Arts,” said Reiner. “I drop everything to document this final concert.”
In November 2023, Reiner confirmed Paul McCartney, Elton John and Garth Brooks would be making cameos in the sequel film.
Did Robert Plant Make The List?
Sean Roberts was conceived in the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky by two passionate, panel aligning, third shifters who had grown bored with the same ole same ole. Upon birth, he was placed in the trunk of a new Stingray and sent off to find his destiny.
That destiny included several stints on radio stations across the United States. Some played punk country gospel, while others focused on Croatian death metal played backwards.
After many years and many adventures, Sean wound up on The Shark, where he does shots of tequila while playing the most badass tunes ever created by humankind.
He remains humble, however, never forgetting about the lean years...the street corners and dark alleys where he played songs on his car stereo for food and sex.
He's on top and he's never gonna stop LIVING THE DREAM!
