Salt Life Co-Founder Pleads Guilty In Teen Death

Think about how many Salt Life stickers you’ve seen on cars. It’s standard equipment on Lincoln Town Cars belonging to snowbirds and convertibles belonging to locals. Now, take a moment to think about how much money has been generated by those stickers and t-shirts. It’s millions…lots of millions.
The man who became a millionaire by selling that stuff has been in a pickel lately, to say the least. Investigators say the co-founder of Salt Life, Michael Troy Hutto, has now pleaded guilty to the charge of manslaughter with a firearm after the shooting death of his girlfriend, 18-year-old Lora Grace Duncan. The incident happened back in 2020 at the singer Island Resort. Hutto and Duncan were dating at the time. One day after the bodyb was found, the Salt Life millionaire was found overdosing in his car at a gas station. He reportedly confessed to killing Duncan during questioning, although he claimed the shooting was an accident. His girlfriend was found in the hotel room, dead from a gunshot wound to her stomach. Hutto was arrested and charged with manslaughter in the case.
Hutto posted a $250,000 bond and was released from jail until his court date. Shortly after, his bond was revoked due to to two women accusing the man of stalking. The judge decided to keep the suspect in custody until his court appearance to protect the women. Hutto pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter charge initially, but decided to change that plea to guilty on Thursday. Hutto has now been sentenced to 12 years in prison for the crime. Hutto sold the Salt Life company and logo to another company back in 2013 and no longer has any affiliation with the company.

Sean Roberts was conceived in the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky by two passionate, panel aligning, third shifters who had grown bored with the same ole same ole.
