Knocking Down Buildings In Tampa, Putting Up More
More changes are coming, and they're big!
Today is the big day. Ground was broken this morning at 10 am on a huge project that will change the landscape in downtown Tampa. It’s called Gas Worx and it’s a monstrous project. The construction project will fundamentally alter the Ybor City and Channelside skylines. Developers are calling it the latest step in a total Tampa transformation.
Gas Worx is a 50-acre complex that will feature 5,000 residences, over half a million square feet of office space and almost 150,000 square feet of retail space. The center of the project is a huge warehouse that will become an “Armature Works” sort of facility. Imagine cool restaurants and hip shops with lots of places to buy alcohol. The warehouse will be surrounded by miles of walking, hiking and bike riding trails. The development will stretch all of the way to the Selmon Expressway.
Phase one of Gas Worx began this morning at 10 am, but it will continue over the next two years. The first structures will be apartment buildings that will rise up to 5 stories. Some units will be affordable housing that will be built close to a new pedestrian skyway. The affordable housing section replaces a delapidated housing project that was demolished last year. The new housing complex is expected to be finished by next year. Source: Fox13News.com

7 Things Coming To Water Street In Tampa This Year
Water Street is really taking off to be Tampa’s best dining and business district. Being across from Sparkman Wharf and walking distance to Amalie Arena, it’s the perfect location for booming businesses. Just in the past couple of months they’ve added new dining hotspots like French eatery Boulon Brasserie. This is becoming the spot in Tampa for any special occasion. Don’t be surprised with how elevated and delicious the food is. Their head chef, Hab Hamde comes from a long tenure at Bern’s Steak House.
On top of new foodie spots, Water Street is going to be a popular spot for something else. We think this is going to be a new spot for locals and tourists to get some photo ops. One of the coolest things about the new Tampa district is the public art installations that you can wander around. From murals to lighted arches, there is some super unique artwork to check out. We love the “neon” peace and love and the whale and parrot mural! Click here for the full guide of the public art.
In addition to shopping and eating, Water Street also hosts multiple events throughout the year. Each month they have a market that features local food and wellness-focused vendors. You can also catch some live entertainment and check out public art. Over the holidays they host a holiday market, which is a perfect spot to buy gifts for your family from local businesses!
Whether you’re looking for a new restaurant to try, need some pampering, or want to start a fitness journey, there’s lots to see on Water Street.

Are You Going This Week?
Sean Roberts was conceived in the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky by two passionate, panel aligning, third shifters who had grown bored with the same ole same ole. Upon birth, he was placed in the trunk of a new Stingray and sent off to find his destiny.
That destiny included several stints on radio stations across the United States. Some played punk country gospel, while others focused on Croatian death metal played backwards.
After many years and many adventures, Sean wound up on The Shark, where he does shots of tequila while playing the most badass tunes ever created by humankind.
He remains humble, however, never forgetting about the lean years...the street corners and dark alleys where he played songs on his car stereo for food and sex.
He's on top and he's never gonna stop LIVING THE DREAM!
