3 Florida Roads Among Worst In Country
When my friends visit Tampa, I tell them to avoid I-4 at all costs. It’s just not worth it. Every single time I get on that road, I’m almost killed at least a half dozen times before the next exit. Then there’s the traffic backups… My theory is that we would have even more snow birds visiting annually if they didn’t get lost forever on I-4.
Contrary to popular belief, Tampa and St. Pete do not top the list when it comes to terrible commutes. The top spots are still handily held by Los Angeles and New York City. However, two of the most craptastic places to drive in our area are in Orlando and and another is in Miami, but not a single problem highway is in our beloved bay. Out of the entire country, I-4 West in Orlando placed fourth in problem drives. US-17 South in Orlando also made the list at number 7. Finally, Miami’s I-95 North placed at number 8 in the list. The study measured hours lost while sitting in traffic. On an average, I-4 costs drivers about 74 hours each year. The worst road in America is still in Los Angeles, where I-5 costs drivers almost 90 hours a year. Even worse, other areas of the city rank high in suckiness. Source: WFLA.com
