Lakeland Couple Finds Lost Engagement Ring After 21 Years…In Toilet.
I know what you’re thinking. Don’t they ever flush? Well, it’s a bit more complicated than that. Stinky, too. The smelly tale began over 21 years ago, when Nick Day proposed to his then-girlfriend, Shaina and gave her the customary diamond ring. Shaina said ‘yup’ and the two began planning their wedding day. That’s when things quite literally went to crap. It seems that Shaina was moved to have a movement. Things went well, except for the fact that she somehow lost her ring in the process.
Shaina told Nick about the terrible accident, but Nick didn’t let the news squash their dreams. Nick jumped in the septic tank and searched every square inch of it. I’m serious. They ran its entire contents through a strainer. I’ll let you stew on that for a moment. The search yeilded nothing. Well, nothing they wanna talk about. After that adventure, the couple assumed the ring was gone forever.
But last month, Shaina’s mother decided to replace the bathroom toilet with a new one. They hired a plumber, who discovered somethng lodged deeply inside the old commode. It was Shaina’s ring, and it was pretty much…um…crusted. After a VERY thorough cleaning, the ring was given back to Shaina on Christmas night. When the couple recieved the ring, they immediately recognized it and knew it was the ring that had disappeared 21 years earlier.
Shaina began to cry, realizing that it was the same ring she had lost so many years before. Nick immediately jumped in the shower, burned his clothes and scrubbed his body raw with antiseptic wipes. The couple says they learned a valuable lesson from the whole thing, saying whenever you lose anything, check the toilet. Source: WFLA.com
