Pools are pretty common in our area. They’re a great way to exercise or relax after a long, hot day. But some Floridians don’t use their pools much, so they sit and take up space…and money. Maintaining a pool can be expensive. There’s cleaning, resurfacing, fixing leaks and temperature control. Now there’s a way to offset those costs. It’s an app that’s designed to rent out your pool to tourists or even locals. It’s been described as AirBNB for pools. It’s called Swimmy.com and it allows people to rent local pools for $25 to $50 per person per session. The app gets almost a third of the revenue, but it’s a good way to generate some extra cash on the side. Pools can be rented for private parties, birthdays or just a day off.
