Royal Caribbean Postpones Florida Cruises After More Positive COVID-19 Tests
Royal Caribbean has been waiting patiently to take out their new ship, Odyssey of the Seas from its port here in Florida. Excited ocean-goers will have to wait a bit longer, though. Royal Caribbean has announced that several crew memevers have tested positive for COVID-19. That means a delay for everyone involved. After the entire staff of 1,400 was vaccinated back on June 4th, eight staff still tested positive for COVID-19. Six of those who tested positive are asymptomatic. The cruise line has quarantined and treated the affected members. They will remain quarantined for 14 days. A representative of Royal Caribbean said that while it’s inconvenient, it’s mandatory for the safety of the passengers and crew. Passengers will be notified and informed of their options going forward. Source: WTSP.com
