One of my favorite parts of living in the Bay area is being able to see Space X rockets launch in the distance. As a kid growing up in the Kentucky, I had to settle for watching those things on TV. I also remember watching the splashdowns in the ocean, complete with the lunar module and its triple parachutes. It’s been a long time since we carried astronauts into space, even longer since we landed on the moon. Many Americans were not even born when we left our flag on another planet. Now, we’re back. Space X has a flight scheduled for this afternoon that will carry two passengers to the International Space Station. If this mission goes well, Elon Musk and company plan to eventually land on the Moon and Mars. As the country (and the world) recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, this would be a great time to unite our population. – Sean Roberts
