For many Americans, their least favorite part of the day is driving to and from work. Living in the state of Florida car crashes happen every single day and the roads are getting busier. Out of all the counties in Florida, Polk County has the deadliest commute. Regardless of your family situation dropping off the kids at their school in traffic and then driving to work everyday is a lot. As a matter of fact, it makes a most people feel completely miserable. A lot of people have very long driving commutes which can make your drive more dangerous. With a mixture of bumper-to-bumper traffic, expensive gas and time wasted, it makes driving the most dangerous things we do on a regular basis.

MoneyGeek broke down all the different aspects of your daily commute and put together a list of the cities that are the worst in the country for driving. At first, the measured “commute agony,” which are the frustrating things about your drive including distance and speeds. On this list they looked at infuriating commutes in Texas and Florida and added gas prices. Gas prices might not be as high as they were last years but it’s still not cheap. At the moment the average price of a gallon of gas is around $3.50 nationwide at the beginning of June 2023. In some cities you can’t even find $3.50 gas, especially in the state of California. For example, in San Francisco, gas is about $4.96 per gallon which is extremely expensive.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, car crashes are one of the leading causes of death under the age of 54. MoneyGeek also broke down the cities with the most fatal crashes but only during morning rush hour. Sadly, Polk County has the deadliest commute in the state of Florida so drive careful!
