A Florida Man was arrested earlier this week from an alleged fight that left a man dead from one punch. On September 27 Hillsborough County Fire Rescue rushed an unconscious man to Tampa General Hospital. It appeared that he had a significant injury to the back of his head. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the hospital that night.
This left the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office with the task to figure out what happened. They were able to piece together the events that caused this tragedy. On September 27, at around 6 p.m. both the victim and another man show up in different vehicles to a Chevron gas station in Ruskin. After talking in the parking lot, the suspect allegedly walked up to the victim and punched him one time in the face. This caused him to fall backward onto the pavement without protecting his head from the fall. The suspect walked to his car and drove away from the scene.
The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death due to a blunt impact to the head. The man with the deadly fists was arrested by HCSO on October 3rd. The man arrested is 48-year-old Rodolfo Regino, Jr. and he now faces several charges, including Manslaughter.
Apparently the Florida man knew the victim for years and has had fights with him in the past. Sheriff Chad Chronister said about the case “It’s sad to see the loss of a person solely because emotions were not kept in check.”
