Adam Levine Reacts to Mick Jagger Dancing to ‘Moves Like Jagger’
Adam Levine performs onstage during the 38th Annual Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony at Barclays Center on November 03, 2023 in New York City. Mick Jagger attends a State Banquet at The Palace of Versailles on September 20, 2023 in Versailles, France.
We love it when life imitates art. Rolling Stones frontman, legendary rocker Mick Jagger, shared a video recently dancing to Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger.” The 80-year-old let loose in a bar in a video he shared to his Instagram just weeks ago, and Adam Levine reacts to the viral video during a recent late-night appearance.
Jagger’s impressive moves to the 2011 hit have received hundreds of thousands of likes since its March 27 posting. The English rocker cheekily captioned the clip: “Moves like who!” The band Splash behind him in the video performs a cover of the Maroon 5 song. Jagger is full of energy in the video, which you can watch below.
On Wednesday night (April 10), the Maroon 5 frontman appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, so of course Levine was asked about the Jagger video. Levine, 45, told host Fallon, “It’s really surreal. It’s just one of those things you’re like, ‘Oh my, like how is this possible? What is happening? It’s bizarre.’” As bizarre as it may feel, only a few people in Levine’s life shared the video with him after Jagger posted it — his mom being one of them!
When the song was written over ten years ago now, Levine says the inspiration was a woman. However, he solely takes the blame to be “the only idiot crazy enough to say that I have the moves like Jagger.” Apparently, it’s a “confidence thing. It’s a swag thing,” says Levine. “He’s the man.”
During his late-night appearance, Levine also hinted at new music for Maroon 5, who have been a band for 30 years now. He tells Fallon that the group is taking an “in-house” approach when it comes to recording the new tunes. “For the first time in about 13 years,” Levine says he feels ready enough to “take the reins back” to be a songwriter.
The father of two claims he is determined that he and his bandmates will have enough ideas that we won’t need any co-writers. “The ideas are coming straight from the nucleus of Maroon 5,” he assures, and together, they will make the music “sound a like it did in the very beginning. I’m so excited about what’s happening right now.“
The pop group’s seventh and most recent studio album, 2021’s Jordi, peaked at number 8 on the Billboard 200.

Adam Levine Says 'Hot Chicks' Don’t Like Metal, Metal Fans Respond
NBC’s The Voice judge/Maroon 5 “singer” Adam Levine has managed to piss off female metal fans whilst being exposed as a philandering jerk.
As has been widely reported, a 23-year-old Instagram model named Sumner Stroh recently took to TikTok to tell the world that she had an affair with him, while Levine’s wife was pregnant with their third child. Soon, other women claimed that he had sent them inappropriate DMs. One of those women, by the name of Maryka, came forward with some of the DMs she received. When this woman told Levine she only likes metal, Levine, 43, allegedly responded with, “Said no hot chicks ever other than you.”
The fact that Levine has the audacity to pass judgment on what would classify a woman as “hot” is exactly why people thought he was such a douche, even before we found out that he was cheating (or at least flirting) with women 20 years younger than him. (His wife, Behati Prinsloo, is just nine years younger.) And, of course, terms like “hot” and “sexy” are rather subjective.
When People named him “Sexiest Man Alive” in 2013, you could be sure that every metal chick responded with barf emojis — and that’s if they even knew who he was.
After all, if you like heavy music, Maroon 5 isn’t willingly on any playlist you’re listening to and you’re probably not watching The Voice (though he’s not a judge anymore). Having been to my fair share of metal and metalcore shows like Tool, The Devil Wears Prada, Asking Alexandria, Enter Shikari, Bring Me The Horizon, Emmure and Motionless in White, I think it is safe to say there are and were plenty of hot chicks in attendance — myself included. Just because your typical metal chick wears a lot of black and silver jewelry and black eyeliner doesn’t make them any less hot than your average basic bitch. And, as Stroh said, Maroon 5 “is basically elevator music by now.”
