Sammy Hagar fans packed in tight at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Ampitheatre in Tampa last night for a bit of Sunday Night rock n’ roll. Hagar packed the setlist with Van Halen Classics paying tribute to the rockers’ roots.
Sammy Hagar was joined on stage alongside Michael Anthony on bass, Jason Bonham on drums and Joe Satriani on the strings. Fans looking for a blast from the past got a setlist packed with Van Halen hits starting off the set with Good Enough from “5150”.
Hagar and the band pulled out some fan favorites, Poundcake and Runaround off the 1991 album “For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge”. They tipped the hat to the DLR Era Van Halen classics performing Panama, Aint Talkin’ ‘Bout Love and part of Jump.
Concertgoers also got a taste of Joe Satriani’s own Satch Boogies. The rest of the setlist was intertwined with some of Hagar’s solo cuts like There’s Only One Way To Rock, Eagles Fly, Heavy Metal, and I Can’t Drive 55.
