Brunch is simply a meal that pretty much everyone enjoys, especially a Florida brunch. From pancakes to eggs to fruit to whatever else is on the menu, no matter what you eat, you’re likely to find something delicious to enjoy at a brunch spot. As a vegetarian, I especially like brunch because it gives me lots of choices. Chocolate-chip pancakes are my favorite, but that’s not always on the menu, so sometimes blueberry pancakes have to do. In any case, one Florida brunch restaurant has been named the No. 5 best in America.
Florida Brunch Restaurant Among the Tastiest in America
Pos.toasttab.com has put together a list of the best brunch restaurants in the U.S. They only picked 20 out of America, so it’s an honor to be included. They remind us that brunch isn’t just for the daytime. An evening brunch can be delicious, too. “For most brunch diners, the most important elements they look for in a brunch restaurant are the ambiance and setting, the drink menu, and of course, the food, which has to be mouth-watering and delicious,” they write. “The best brunch restaurants in the United States meet those three requirements but often go over the top or add a special twist to their menu offerings that have landed them a spot on our top 20 best brunch restaurants in the United States in 2023.”
The No. 1 brunch spot in America is El Chorro in Paradise Valley, Arizona. “The atmosphere alone draws guests into their restaurant, but the delicious comfort foods and flavorful drinks make customers want to stay all day,” they write. As for Florida brunch, we make No. 5 on the tally with Phuc Yea in Miami. The publication raves about the spot, stating, “Considering their menu offers a crispy croissant French toast or a breakfast banh mi, Phuc Yea is not your typical brunch spot in the best way.”

Eggs
Many establishments opt for powdered eggs instead of fresh ones, as it’s a cost-effective way to prepare large quantities of scrambled eggs to cater to numerous guests at once. However, powdered eggs cannot compare to the taste, texture, and color of their fresh counterparts. Another concern lies in the fact that these eggs are pre-cooked, which means they might sit at unsafe temperatures for extended periods.
According to the FDA, serving eggs immediately after cooking is crucial to prevent foodborne illnesses. Unfortunately, in a buffet setting, it’s challenging to determine how long the eggs have been sitting out.

Unless you witnessed the fruit being freshly prepared in the kitchen, it’s nearly impossible to gauge how long that eye-catching fruit display has been sitting there. According to the FDA, when fruits are cut, their protective skins are breached, leaving the flesh vulnerable to the surrounding environment and any potential bacteria. This creates two primary reasons that heighten the risk of contamination. Firstly, cutting the fruit makes its water content and nutrients readily available to microorganisms. Secondly, without any heating process, disease-causing germs aren’t eliminated, further contributing to the potential hazards of consuming cut fruits from a buffet display.

However, it’s best to exercise caution and avoid the waffle station. As per TikToker Brandi Augustus, a former hotel employee, the waffle batter served there is often old and sour. Instead of disposing of the old batter, new batter is mixed with it. It’s worth noting that not all places offering breakfast buffets adhere to this practice, but it’s wise to stay informed and make a decision based on the circumstances.
