LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - FEBRUARY 19: (EDITORS NOTE: Image contains profanity.) Recording artist Slash of Slash Ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators performs during a stop of The River is Rising tour in support of the group's new album "4" at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas on February 19, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
You may not know, but the Tampa Bay area is the home to many rockstars like Aerosmith’s Joe Perry(Sarasota), Cheap Trick’s Robin Zander (Safety Harbor) and Brian Johnson from AC/DC (Sarasota). Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash was recently seen hanging out in Sarasota.
It seems Slash was in town to record Brian Johnson’s vocals for a song on his new album. They recorded at Burnt Orange Sound Studio in Sarasota. The song called “Killing Floor” is a cover of an old Howlin’ Wolf song. Slash’s new album, “Orgy of the Damned,” features blues classics with guest vocalists. Check out the video below.
Slash and Brian Johnson were spotted at Sarasota Italian restaurant Marcello Ristorante, while taking a break from recording. According to the Herald Tribune, Slash ate in the private dining room and wine cellar, which also has salami and capicola hanging from above. In case you were curious what he ordered, he went with the pork chop.
Owner Marcell Aquino told the Herald Tribune “We grew up with that stuff, so we were pretty starstruck. I mean, a lot of bigshots come in, but Slash is Slash.”
To support his new album, Slash announced the S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival featuring rock and blues artists. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, March 15 at 10 AM local time at SerpentFestival.com. The show will be coming to the Sound at Coachman Park in Clearwater on Saturday August 10th. Joining Slash on stage is ZZ Ward and Robert Randolph. Slash was also making headlines this week for his surprise performance with Ryan Gosling during “I’m Just Ken” at the Oscars.
5 Of The World's Richest Rock Stars
Being a rock star has its perks. Yeah, the money floods in like a tsunami, but that’s not all. Trash a hotel room? Right on. Smash a guitar into a zillion pieces? Grab another and play the next set. There are too many to count, but who are the world’s richest rock stars? Let’s dive in.
Crazy Stories of Rock Stars Trashing Hotel Rooms
When you’re riding the ranks of some of the top rockers known to man, of course, there’s going to be some wild times. Holes in the walls, TVs off balconies, and cars in the pools are just a few examples.
Back in 1967, one of the most famous trash jobs occurred. Keith Moon was celebrating his 21st birthday when he supposedly drove a Lincoln Continental into the pool. Moon gained a reputation as one of the greatest to trash hotels and in the 60’s and ’70s, he was actually banned from staying in Holiday Inns.
We can’t forget about the legendary Stones’ guitarist, Keith Richards. Known for inventing the infamous TV launching from the balcony, Richards was the reason room 1015 at the Continental Hyatt House in LA coined the name “The Riot House”. If you’ve got the cash, why not live the lifestyle?
Let’s not forget about one of the most legendary dumps of all time. The bassist for Green Day, Mike Dirnt, took things a step further than launching a TV off the balcony. The actress Juliette Binoche was staying in the room below them when he let a ripe one rip right off the balcony and onto Binoche’s terrace below. Props to him for the aim on that one.
These artists above might not have made the cut for the World’s 5 Richest Rock Stars, but that doesn’t mean the dough wasn’t flowing. According to celebritynetworth.com, here are the 5 of The World’s Richest Rock Stars.
