There’s a new trend taking over TikTok: the ketchup challenge. How does it work? Well, women are testing their male partners’ cleaning skills. Turns out, most men aren’t very good at cleaning up!
The new viral trend is all over the social media app. However, it’s as entertaining as it is problematic.
What Is The Ketchup Challenge On TikTok?
So, what is this new Ketchup Challenge? Basically, a woman squirts some ketchup on a kitchen counter while recording. Then, she asks her male partner to clean the mess. It’s as simple as that. Now, some of these videos are going viral for the mens’ awful attempts at cleaning up the mess.
We’ve seen videos of men using their hands, wet paper towel, dry towels, clothing, and more. However, some do end up doing it correctly. Unfortunately, those don’t make for good content. Nobody wants to watch that. Instead, the popular and most viral of the bunch are the worst attempts at cleaning. Not good PR for us men.
Sometimes, it’s not even the way they go about doing the cleaning that makes the video funny or viral. The men can be seen and heard making comments while cleaning. There’s also examples where they pick fights over why they have to clean up her mess. You never know what kind of reaction you’re going to get. Most likely because I assume most of these people aren’t aware that they’re even being filmed. However, that’ s an issue for another time.
Now, it’s becoming super popular and seems to be everywhere. We’re coming across some that definitely seem set-up and staged. You can usually tell. Turns out, influencers don’t make the best actors! So, beware of some of those lurking around your timeline.
