Have you heard of the Poopcopter? It's a unique drone that collects dog poop and it's changing our lives one scoop at a time! One day. The Poopcopter was invented by Caleb Olson and it uses a bell-shaped container with geared levers to pick up waste. Brilliant! Olson describes the Poopcopter to Peta Pixel saying it's the "world's first aerial bound self-guided dog poop removal system." He decided to invent it after he built a dog poop detector using a security camera that monitors his dog, Twinky, and alerts him when she goes to the bathroom so he can pick it up. It only takes stepping in dog poop one time for you to take some action and get creative how to ensure it will never happen again. Olson explained while on-stage at Minnestar, which is an organization promoting tech enterprise in Minnesota, and said, "The Poopcopter is capable of scanning areas defined by a user, your backyard for example, and as it scans it's performing real-time computer vision using the camera which is inside the drone." It's pretty cool how it works! The Poopcopter lands with its gears open and a quick rotation scoops up the poop. For now, it's just a prototype and he's not sure what is next but it could be used by individuals or there are commercial uses. The possibilities are endless!
