Lenny Kravitz Recalls Toking with Mick Jagger
Lenny Kravitz, understandably, has a lot of famous rocker friends. One of them is Mick Jagger, and the story of their first meeting is truly priceless.
Kravitz told Esquire that following the release of his second album, 1991’s Mama Said, many high-profile rockers started to take notice of him. This included Jagger. Apparently, the Rolling Stone frontman visited him before a show, and the two spontaneously decided to have Jagger come out for a guest appearance. Both Kravitz and Jagger would share vocals, and the two were able to figure out how they were going to perform just before the show started.
Following the show, Jagger went back to Kravitz’s hotel room where they hung out and talked all night. During the evening, the two rockers shared a joint. Kravitz said, “I saved that roach for like ten years.”
Even though Kravitz was in possession of an incredible memento, he added, with a laugh, that the roach no longer exists. Why? He said, “I was out of weed and smoked it.”
While it seems insane to destroy a truly unique souvenir, we can only assume this was a true weed emergency.
Lenny Kravitz: His Best Moment of 2023
With 2023 almost in the rearview, we can’t help but look back on a classic moment this year from Kravitz. The singer-songwriter helped usher in Fall and celebrated joining TikTok in truly epic fashion. How did he do this? By resurrecting his notoriously massive scarf that went viral years ago.
The clip shows Kravitz donning the scarf and walking through a park. While walking toward the camera, he simply says, “Grab your big scarf. It’s the first day of Fall.”

Of course, Kravitz’s scarf turned into a meme instantly when he was first spotted wearing it. In 2018, the scarf was brought up during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Kravitz had a perfect explanation why he wore such a large scarf. He told Fallon, “I live in the Bahamas. I’m used to hot weather, and I had to go to the store. I was buying some groceries, and I thought I’d put on a little scarf to protect my throat, and that’s the scarf I had.”
