Largo Opens Florida’s First Wawa with a DRIVE THRU
OK lazy people… we are getting over-catered to once again. I’ve become a big fan of ordering through apps. You get to skip the lines. You don’t have to deal with people. You can pay without handing your credit card. I use mobile ordering on everything from fast food to when I get a Pub Sub at Publix.
Wawa has been in the online ordering via their app game for a while now. I like being able to customize my hoagie on my phone. The germaphobe in me doesn’t like using those touch screens that countless customers have used before me. Now you’ll have a new way to avoid those touch screens.
Largo is going to be the first in Florida to get the next generation of Wawa stores… one with a real fast food style drive thru, according to I Love The Burg. Florida’s first Wawa with a drive thru will be located at 2530 East Bay Drive in Largo, which is way out of the way for me. But hopefully this becomes popular and will be the first of many. The drive-thru is finally open as of TODAY (6/13).
Another big difference.
They say construction will begin soon. The big difference with this location? There will NOT be gas station. That’ll seem odd to most Florida Wawa fans. But they’ve tried this in other cities and it’s gone well. They first started trying this concept in 2020 in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
What can you get at the drive thru?
Some of the stuff you’ll be able to order via the drive thru include their subs, soups, and salads. They say you’ll even be able to get the pre-packaged stuff. [Source: I Love The Burg]
