Raquel Welch, the actress and iconic sex symbol of the 1960s, has died. She was 82.

First reported by TMZ, Welch’s family members told the tabloid she died this morning following a “brief illness.” The Washington Post reports her son, Damon Welch, confirmed her death. Further details related to her cause of death are not known as of publishing.

Welch’s acting career spans six decades. She rose to fame in 1966 with roles in Fantastic Voyage and One Million Years B.C. Other notable credits include 1967’s Fathom,1970’s Myra Breckinridge, 1971’s Hannie Caulder and 1973’s The Three Musketeers.

Welch made one-off appearances on a number of TV shows including Seinfeld, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Spin City, CSI: Miami and many more. In 2001, she played Mrs. Windham Vandermark in the hit comedy Legally Blonde.
