It’s not a big challenge to find cheap tickets to a Rays game at The Trop. The team’s attendance issues have been a sore subject for years. But usually if the ticket is under $40, you’re going to be quite a distance from home plate.
A deal popping up at some Tampa area Costco stores offers 2 100 Level seats for $80. Worth it? Let’s take a look at the details because there are a few “catches” to see the catches.
Catch #1:
This offer isn’t for any home game. Games against teams like the Red Sox and Yankees that are popular with the transplants tend to be pricier than those against west coast or weeknight games.
Catch #2:
You won’t be able to get your tickets reserved quite yet. According to the sign at Costco, you’ll get a voucher. That voucher can be redeemed beginning January 10, 2023.
Catch #3:
You won’t necessarily be near home plate. Although these are the better seats on the 100 level, the zone for the tickets in this offer extends all the way over to the outfield. So if you do get that voucher, you’re probably better off to redeem it right away on January 10.
Catch #4:
You’ll have to buy the tickets in pairs. There are no solo or 3 ticket packages. But obviously if you need 4 tickets, you can buy 2 of the offers.
