No More Nudity in Key West
If you’ve been to Fantasy Fest, you know, and if you haven’t, I’m sure you’ve heard stories..and the big one coming out of Key West today is that nudity is officially banned.
In December, city leaders decided that they wanted to “transform the event into a positive, clean festival enjoyed by both residents and visitors.” With that, the goal is to “increase the focus on culture, history and natural resources of Key West.”
According to Keysweekly.com, Fantasy Fest will still feature a street parade and Masquerade March, but there will not be any nudity allowed, not even in the Fantasy Zone, where body painting has been allowed in past years. There also, moving forward, will be “family hours” where inappropriate costumes will be banned.
While I’m sure, in true Key West fashion, Fantasy Fest will still be a good time; it’ll definitely look a little different this year!
