Tom Brady Gives Hat to Young Fan Who Beat Brain Cancer
Although Tom Brady on Sunday become the first quarterback in NFL history to throw 600 career touchdowns, reaching that milestone won’t likely be the only thing the Buccaneers star remembers from that day.
After noticing a 9-year-old boy in the stands holding a sign that read, “Tom Brady helped me beat brain cancer,” Brady left the field in the fourth quarter to approach the young fan and hand him his Crucial Catch hat. The boy, identified only as Noah, immediately burst into tears upon meeting his hero.
It turns out Noah, who was attending his first-ever NFL game, recently completed a six-month treatment plan for brain cancer — and he says watching Brady play helped him get through it. “That was really sweet,” Brady said after the game. “Obviously a tough kid, man. Puts a lot in perspective of what we’re doing on the field. In the end it doesn’t mean much compared to what so many people go through, so we all try to make a difference in different ways.”
