Florida Men Arrested in Bradenton After Having Conversation About Robbery on Facebook Messenger
Florida men were arrested in Bradenton after having a conversation about robbery on Facebook Messenger.
Two Florida men are facing robbery charges after investigators found them discussing their crime on Facebook Messenger, police say.
According to the Bradenton Herald, two Bradenton men Patrick Smith, 23, and Darquez Manning, 22, are accused of robbing and beating two men during a marijuana transaction, according to the duo’s arrest report. “A physical struggle occurred during the robbery, at which time Smith told Manning to kill the victims,” the report reads.
Instead, Manning fired one shot into the victim’s tire before the pair drove off with their victims’ stolen property, per the report. Investigators learned of the pair’s involvement when they “discovered a string of messages between Smith and Manning on the day of as well as the day after the robbery on his Facebook Messenger account,” the report states.
The messages revealed the plan to rob the men and included a discussion about the items they stole and avoiding capture afterwards, police say.
