Lovie Smith’s Son Busted for Running Prostitution Ring in AZ
Former Tampa Bay Bucs Coach Lovie Smith’s son has been arrested for reportedly running a prostitution ring in Arizona.
Mikal Lee Smith and an accomplice — Aprel Mae Rasmussen — were taken into custody Thursday, according to the Chandler Police Department. Both are accused of operating an “illegal prostitution enterprise” from December 2018 through September 2019, according to their indictment. Smith is facing seven felony charges in connection with the illicit business, while Rasmussen has been charged with four, police say.
Mikal Smith, who played college football at the University of Arizona, went on to work as an assistant coach for the Bears, Cowboys and Buccaneers. His father, who formerly served as head coach for the Bears and Buccaneers, currently coaches at the University of Illinois.
