Why Murder Hornets Won’t Be A Thing In Florida
Coronavirus is still in our lives. Hurricane season is on the way. But one thing we DON’T have to worry about in Florida is the murder hornet. Surely you saw the trending stories all weekend long on social media about some The Green Asian Hornet that can wipe out populations of honeybees and can apparently even be fatal for humans. So why are we off the hook?
Channel 10 talked to some scientists who say the chances of them ever reaching the east coast are pretty low. They’re on the west coast right now so they’d need to hitchhike quite a way to get to us. They’re usually found in the mountains. We don’t have many of those. They say that even if these critters start to multiply, it’d take years to be anything we’d have to worry about.
They also say the hornets don’t hunt people down. If you ever were to see one, do what you do with any kind of hornet. Leave it alone. [Source: WTSP]
The Blue Angels fly over Atlanta and DC
We would’ve loved a Florida visit, but here are the photos from this weekend’s flyovers by the Blue Angels.
