Check Out This Hawk’s “Head Stabilization” Technique
A video of a guy holding a hawk was making the rounds last week, and here’s why. The guy is moving the hawk’s body back and forth, and up and down, but the bird’s head doesn’t budge. It stays locked in place and keeps looking forward.
It’s called “head stabilization” and birds need to do it so they can stay focused on prey even when their bodies are moving around.
