First Tampa Bay Devil Rays owner Vince Naimoli dies at 81
The original owner of the Tampa Bay Rays has died.
The team was borne out of Vince Naimoli’s failed bid to buy and relocate the San Francisco Giants.
The Tampa Bay Times reports Naimoli died Sunday night after a long illness. He was 81.
Jeff Zito or just "Zito" as he is known to his friends, was born in Summit, NJ. Zito is the afternoon personality and program director of 987 the Shark. He has been with Beasley Media Group since 1999. Zito aspired to be a professional golfer and attended Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI majoring in PGM (pro golf management).
