Missing Florida Woman Found In Shipping Container After Knocking
Thankfully this woman was found safe and alive! A 52-year-old Florida woman, who was missing for three days was rescued after someone heard her banging on the door of a shipping container.
Missing Florida Woman Found In Shipping Container:
According to WTSP, Marlene Lopez’s family was extremely concerned after they hadn’t seen her since Monday, March 4 in Cocoa, Florida. Oddly enough she wasn’t reported missing until Wednesday after a concerned coworker heard she didn’t show up to pick up her son. Friends and family members started checking known locations and posting a missing person report. That’s when Cocoa police received a call saying that Lopez was found in a shipping container!
Luckily, the container was right next to a local business when someone heard her banging. Lopez had been knocking on the door when someone walked by and heard her screaming inside. They shockingly unlocked the door and found her alive asking for help. Lopez was uninjured but was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. They wanted to make sure she wasn’t suffering from possible dehydration.
Oddly enough, it’s still unclear how she ended up inside the shipping container. The shipping container is normally stocked with with lawnmowers and nothing else. The owner of the containers said he saw Lopez walking around the area on Monday and locked up everything. He never once heard anyone inside. While he was walking around he told police he did found a lighter and pipe inside the container after Lopez left. He thinks she wandered inside and fell asleep but nothing has been confirmed. At this time, the Cocoa Police Department is continuing to investigate how Lopez ended up inside the shipping container. Thank goodness she’s safe and was found alive! This could have ended very badly but we’re happy she is doing well.
