5 Florida Establishments Are Named Best New Restaurants Of 2023
Yelp has published their best new restaurants of 2023 and 20 percent of the list are Florida establishments. The Sunshine State has crushed it this year in terms of opening new quality places for people to enjoy both unique and authentic food.
Furthermore, Yelp explained that 2023 has been a successful year for the restaurant industry. This is, of course, great news coming out of what was an incredibly challenging pandemic stretch. “To celebrate the rising stars of the culinary world—and a 15% growth in new business openings each month this year (compared to 2022)—we’ve compiled a list of the Best New Restaurants of 2023,” Yelp said.
So here is what you need to know about the Florida restaurants that were among the 25 best new spots. Four out of the five places are in the greater Miami region. Three of them feature decadent pasta items. One restaurant changes the menu selection based on the season and what is fresh. Lastly, one fan-favorite place re-opened (and they have Cap’n Crunch items on their menu).
Here Are The 5 New Florida Restaurants On Yelp’s Best of List
In Miami, Osteria had the highest ranking at number 6. “We combine Italy’s soulful cuisine and timeless spirit with a welcoming, unpretentious atmosphere,” they explain. Their Spaghetti alle Vongole (pasta with clams, lemon zest, and borrata) sounds and looks amazing.
The Lion & The Rambler is 7th on Yelp’s list. This restaurant is in Coral Gables. Everything is made in-house here. In addition, aside from a few standards, the menu changes frequently. However, small plates like braised pork belly are regularly available.
Then, Eating House, an establishment that was closed for 18 months, just reopened its doors. They ranked 10th. “Your favorite dishes have evolved to find a seat at the adult table,” Eating House explains. Their brunch menu is where you will find Cap’n Crunch Pancakes, in addition to crispy Tater Tots that come with black truffle catsup.
Lastly, in Miami proper, coming in right after Eating House at number 11 is Walrus Rodeo. Here you will find wood-fired everything. This includes roasted grapes and a mustard green lasagna.
We don’t have to travel to far outside of Miami to hit the last Florida restaurant to make Yelp’s best new places of 2023. In Fort Lauderdale you will find The Katherine, which ranked 13th. They pride themselves on offering “Global Flavors.” Examples of this include truffle morcilla rice and chili garlic heirloom tomatoes.
Florida Has 2 Of The Most Beautiful Bridges In The Country
Sunshine Skyway Bridge, Tampa
Connecting St. Petersburg to Terra Ceia, this bridge is 4.1 miles long. This stunning bridge over Tampa Bay is often lit up with colors that highlight the skyline. Furthermore, since 2018, there has been a Skyway 10K race that closes the bridge each year.

Seven Mile Bridge, Florida Keys
This two-lane bridge is technically part of Route 1. It’s a magical gateway into the Florida Keys. Mr. Hudson points out, “the Seven Mile Bridge usually has space for sightseers to park up and admire the Florida Keys.” In 1982, a heavy renovation made the lanes wider, allowing for a safer and more comfortable drive. The last annual seven-mile bridge run took place this past April.
