How About A BDSM Getaway?
On The Cooper and Anthony Show we’ve had callers ask about BDSM quite a bit, but some have asked about this growing trend of a BDSM vacation. Yes. It’s a thing.
SOME HISTORY
Back in 1993, one of the first bed and Breakfast dungeons opened and they hosted one couple at the time, and had private rooms with unlimited toys, an erotic library, and a bed with several tie down points. Thanks to 50 Shades of Grey, BDSM is in the mainstream and there are hundreds of bed and breakfast type BDSM places everywhere. It’s usually still one couple at a time and a lot of them have different amenities
AMENITIES
Some have BDSM type furniture like spanking benches, or St. Andrews crosses, leather swings and beds with rings for ropes or handcuffs. Others have more serious stuff like fake prison cells, and chastity devices. Some of those places are pretty hardcore. I would avoid that stuff if you’re just starting out.
NEW TO BDSM?
If you’re new to BDSM, I say try everything they have at these vacation spots that feels safer. Like, wrist restraints sound safe but straight jackets do not. Just see what works for you. I can’t give you specific advice like try this not that because it is all so individual.
The last BDSM party I went to, everyone was lining up to try the new spank bench but I had no interest in that, but it was obviously very popular, just not for me.
IT’S JUST YOU AND YOUR PARTNER
The beauty of a B&BDSM is the fact that you have privacy and access, so give everything a try. But follow best practices like, come up with a safe word that isn’t an obvious word, and don’t ignore aftercare…many of these B&Bs have luxury tubs, saunas and such for some aftercare downtime…but try everything. I think that’s the point. It’s a safe space with a partner you trust. You can also ask your hosts questions, that’s kinda what they’re there for.
