Florida Is The First State To Sell Medical Marijuana At Gas Stations
Circle K is going to start selling gas, and we’re not talking the kind that goes in your car.
Florida is going to be the only state where you can grab your bud and your munchies all in one place. Starting in 2023, select Circle K gas stations will be selling medical marijuana. The deal was made with Chicago-based Green Thumb Industries Inc, one of the largest cannabis producers in the U.S.. Keep in mind that this is only available to the Florida residents that have their medical marijuana license.
At participating Circle K stores, there will be a separate space for “RISE Express” stores. It will work just like a dispensary. After showing your ID, you’ll walk into a room full of branded cannabis products including RYTHM premium flower, pre-rolls, and edibles.
A statement from Green Thumb Founder, Ben Kolver said “The new RISE Express model is a huge step forward in making it easier and more efficient for patients to purchase high-quality cannabis as part of their everyday routine when stopping by their local convenience store.”
This is a big deal because legal marijuana usually only sold in stand-alone dispensaries, not gas stations. But Green Thumb has built a great reputation in Florida, opening multiple locations in Bonita Springs, Pinellas Park, West Palm Beach and more. Unfortunately, as of now, we don’t know which Circle K locations are apart of the deal.
