There are many things to think about before deciding to open your home to a new furry family member. Once you have decided that a shelter dog is the right fit for you and your family here are four things to consider:
- Do some research to find the dog breed that is right for you.

- Visit the Humane Society of Tampa Bay and meet with the dog(s) that interest you.
- Meet with an adoption coordinator to finalize paperwork and go over any questions.
Finally, you can take your new family member home and start your life together.
Dog adoption fees range from $225 for puppies 3 months and under to $50 for senior dogs.
