Following several other counties in the area, Pinellas residents will now be required to wear face masks to slow down the spread of COVID-19. The measure takes effect tomorrow (June 24) at 5pm. The vote was 6 to 1. Masks will be required for adults in indoor spaces. As for minors, that’s up to parents. Violating the order could land you a court date, according to ABC Action News. They say anyone, a person or business, that violates the rule could get a $100 fine for the first offense, $250 the second time and $500 for a third violation.
Pasco County voted to put the face mask requirement in place earlier today. That order was made effective immediately. Face masks are being made available at the Pasco County Tax Collector’s office or the West Pasco Government Center. Public libraries also may have them. [Source: ABC Action News]
