So I just got back from vacation, and I got to tell you traveling through Tampa International Airport (TPA) doesn’t get any easier. Traffic getting there, getting your tickets, and getting pulled out of line for that extra thorough search. It all felt like more of a hassle than it should have been. So I looked around and gathered tips to beat the crowds at TPA.

• Get a Ride

  First off have you seen the prices for overnight parking! Your better off taking an Uber to TPA and back twice before your flight out. So grab a ride. Whether you grab an Uber or make my producer come and drop you off you are way better off than trying to park and then walk a half a mile just to get your tickets.

• Wake Up Early

  The best part of being an afternoon guy is not having to wake up so damn early. But if you want to beat the traffic both inside and outside of TPA you will want to arrive before the crazies get there. You know the ones who never have anything ready and want to argue about why it cost them extra to bring 45 different bags. Yeah that jobber is def gonna be there this week so beat them to the punch with your 46 bags.

• Use the Blue Express Lines

  Are you flying out with any of these airlines: American Airlines, Delta Airlines, United Airlines, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Copa Airlines, Cayman Airways and Swift Air? Well if you are you can skip all the lines and have preferred drop off allowing you to get right to the Main Terminal. Its a new thing TPA is trying to help ease some of the nightmare that is Holiday travel. If you are traveling light you will get to choose this service and zip right to the front of those who need to check bags.
• Don’t Bring Anything Crazy to the TSA

  Ok clear out those pockets and for the love of god just buy the overpriced coffee when you get there. No open containers, toothpaste over that magical size limit that always changes, the hunting rifle for your kid nephew just leave it all behind. Getting through TSA is is almost like going to your in-laws make it as short and sweet as you can and you will thank me for it later.

• TSA Pre-check

  Someone told me about this and I thought it was crazy until he walked by me at TSA checkpoint and didn't take off his shoes pull out his laptop bag and everything else that I had to do. Just google TSA pre-check and sign up for it it will push you through so you can go sit and wait for all those sucker still smelling peoples feet.
