Sydney Sweeney Looks Unrecognizable As Boxer Christy Martin
Sydney Sweeney looks unrecognizable as boxer Christy Martin! People always say that but this time it’s legit!
Could this end up being a really good movie? Signs are starting to point that way. I wasn’t sure how I felt when I heard Sydney Sweeney was going to be playing real-life boxer Christy Martin in a movie. It didn’t add up. I didn’t think she had that tough look to pull off being a boxer in a movie. Well, apparently, I was wrong and I admit it. She looks tough, ripped, and ready to rock!
Sydney Sweeney Starring As Boxer Christy Martin In Movie
Just looking at the picture you can see Sydney has been putting in the work getting ready for the movie. She’s ripped! She has real biceps! I didn’t not expect to see this and wasn’t ready! She’s sporting a 90s mullet, athletic attire, and strong muscles in the photos recently shared. Sweeney wrote on Instagram, “Well the cat’s out of the bag thanks to some paps in bushes so here’s a little BTS from my film I’m working on right now.” See the photo for yourself below. This is not what I was expecting to see, and good for her!
Sydney Sweeney has a massive following on Instagram with 22.5 million followers. This picture was a bit different than how we’ve seen her looking in the past. You don’t see the boobs, for starters. They’re totally hidden and put away. That was one concern I had when I heard that she was going to be playing a boxer. It would be difficult to hide those! However, it looks like they were able to do it without a problem.
She’ll be starring as Martin in an upcoming biopic that remains untitled right now and will be directed by David Michod. He’s known for movies like Animal Kingdom, The Rover, and The King. Christy Martin was a professional boxer from 1989-2012 and in 2010 she survived a murder attempt by her own husband, James Martin. She was reportedly stabbed multiple times but survived the attack. James was convicted of attempted second-degree murder and was sentenced to 25 years behind bars back in 2012, per Variety.
It sounds like Sydney Sweeney has great things to say about Martin. In the caption, she says, “Her journey is a testament to resilience, strength, and hope, and I’m honored to step into her shoes to share her powerful story with you all. More to come soon.” Hopefully this is a good movie and can establish Sydney as a real movie star, not just eye candy.
