Was Cookie Monster caught speeding in Germany? That’s what it looks like and it’s there must have been a cookie emergency.
Speeding is dangerous. Speeding while wearing a mask and costume is even more dangerous. Now, Cookie Monster has been busted with his hands in the cookie jar, figuratively, as he was busted speeding in Germany! Unless that’s just someone dressed up like Cookie Monster?

Traffic cameras can be really helpful. They can monitor the roads and catch people breaking the laws. I’m sure they can also be alibis and some good can come out of them for the drivers too. If you run a red light or are speeding these cameras can get images or videos of you as proof you were doing it. This time around the cameras spotted a familiar face speeding–that of Cookie Monster.
When law enforcement is looking through these photos they probably never expected to see Cookie Monster behind the wheel of the car speeding in Germany. They had to have been really surprised when they saw it and it probably got a laugh. According to The Mirror, a traffic camera in Dortmund, Germany shows the moment a speeding driver dressed in a Cookie Monster costume went flying down the highway going 60. Now, police are looking for the prankster who police believe deliberately sped past the camera in hopes of getting photographed in the outfit. That was one thing I was wondering–what’s the story here? Either he’s a professional Cookie Monster impersonator late for a gig or it’s somebody doing a prank, right?
It sounds like the alleged Cookie Monster was going 60 in a 50 mile per hour zone and law enforcement is concerned about not only speeding but speeding while wearing a costume that obscures the driver’s view could result in an accident that could even be fatal. Police spokesperson Peter Bandermann tells The Mirror, “The fun of wearing a mask from the Muppet Show can quickly turn serious. It won’t help the relatives of a person who has been killed if the person who did it tearfully regrets their mask fun in court.” If found, the driver could face a fine. The car is reportedly registered to a 57-year-old man from Hagen but it’s not clear if he was the person behind the wheel or not (hard to tell as they’re wearing a Cookie Monster costume).
