Santa is Fired?
A Man in Boston is Upset He Wasn’t Asked to be Santa Again
It’s the beginning of the Holiday season and we’re already being inundated with parades and Santa. None of us are children so we all know that Santa is played by a jolly, larger man that is well-known in the community. And, with the Holidays, sometimes there are layoffs. And for one man in Massachusetts Santa, it’s happened to him.
According to NBC 10 Boston, “A man who’s played Santa Claus for the Plymouth Thanksgiving Parade says he learned days before the event from Facebook that someone else had been picked to ride the big sleigh.” He is devastated. He said he was looking forward to it all year, and assumed that he’d be welcomed back after being a fan favorite. NBC 10 Boston reports, that the community has taken to social media to express how sad they are for this man to lose his job and want him back as Santa Claus.
If you watch the interview, you’ll see at the very end he mentions watching the parade from his home. Many people would probably just avoid it had they been left out, but this man wanted to live the pain. Humorously, he found joy in the fact that it rained that day. He even says “Karma is there”, but we think he wanted to call Karma a much more popular phrase we all know.
Also, we find humor in the fact that his wife at one point had to tell him that the cheers at the parade weren’t for him. They were for the fictional character he dressed up as. Andy takes on the role of this man’s wife telling him that he needs to get over it, because he isn’t the star of the show.
We never want to see anyone lose their job. It’s sad. But, according to NBC 10 Boston, this man is booked up all over the place through the Christmas season, so he’ll be alright.
