Influencer Eats Pig Feed To Try To Save Money
An influencer ate pig feed to try to save money. Looking to save some dough? Maybe find a different way to save.
You can’t blame her for trying! These days, it seems like we’re all trying to find ways to not spend as much money. Maybe you cut your gym membership, perhaps you’ve stopped going out on the weekends, or maybe you tried to find a cheap food alternative. That’s what one influencer in China tried and she realized pig feed would be the cheapest option available. It’s high in protein, it’s low in fat, and it’s healthier than drive-thru or fast food. However, the taste is still important.
Did An Influencer Eat Pig Feed To Save Money?
Kong Yufeng “King Kong Liuke” is an influencer in China who took to their version of TikTok, Douyin, to announce she’d be trying to live on the cheapest food she could find for an entire week. After a little bit of research, she found that she could get a bag of pig feed for roughly $14. As pointed out earlier, it’s high in protein, low in fat, and healthier than many other options available. However, it’s apparently also incredibly salty and sour. That’s not great.
I guess it tasted so bad that she had to constantly chase it down with water to help make it tolerable. The video ended up getting more than a million views but was later taken down and her account is no longer searchable on the Douyin platform. Guess they didn’t like her eating pig feed. Or finding cheap alternatives? Who knows.
She did caution viewers not to try this at home unless they’re extremely poor. Of course, she got some hate online for what she did. One commenter said, “how can food designed for pigs meet safety standards for humans?” Many people told her not to promote food not meant for human consumption as a way to save money while others accused her of doing anything for views, per Oddity Central. That’s society today! It doesn’t matter if you’re in the United States of America or if you’re in China, people are going to do whatever they can for views and clicks. It’s the great unifier.
So, now you know what it tastes like so you don’t have to try it for yourselves. If I’m looking for a cheap meal it looks like I’ll be sticking with the Value Menu for now. Hopefully she gets her account back one day so she can get back to trying all the things we don’t want to try.
