New Hampshire Man Arrested For Shooting At A Tree With 9 Guns
A New Hampshire man was arrested for shooting at a tree with 9 guns! That can’t just be a simple mistake if you’re using 9 different guns!
Don’t go chasing waterfalls and don’t go shooting at trees in the woods. Nothing good can come from it and you’ll just find yourself in some trouble like this guy in Brentwood, New Hampshire. He was arrested after being found shooting in the woods around 11:30pm on Monday night near North Road and Route 101 close to the wildlife management zone.
Did A New Hampshire Man Shoot Trees With 9 Guns?
Law enforcement is not releasing the identity of the man at this time but he is now facing charges over the incident. Lt. Justin Doty of the Brentwood Police Department tells WMUR regarding responding officers, “He came upon an abandoned vehicle. Upon checking the abandoned vehicle, he heard what he believed to be gunfire.” That’s when the officer called for backup and when another officer arrived they both heard the sounds that were believed to be gunshots. They reportedly sounded like rapid fire or something from an automatic firearm.
Doty tells WMUR, “Which then caused them to request the assistance of multiple other agencies until they could figure out what exactly was going on. Upon setting up the perimeter, they were also able to learn who the individual in question was. So they were able to make contact with them by phone. Also, using the PA system on the cruiser to call him out of the woods. “He was shooting a small tree in the ground around the tree. It is not illegal to shoot in there. However, based on the totality of the circumstances, the timing and everything else involved, that’s where the charges were derived from.,” Doty tells WMUR. Police found 9 guns on him during the incident. Nine! Doty says he’s looking at charges for reckless conduct, disorderly conduct, and more charges are expected to come at a later time. Police say he was alone in the woods at the time and he is not connected to the abandoned vehicle that was found.
It seems like there have been a lot of stories recently regarding people getting in trouble for shooting at targets for practice. One was in a residential neighborhood, at least this guy went off into the woods! Police say there is no threat to the public in connection with the incident. The identity of the man has still not been released publicly.
