Jason Kelce Slams Guy’s Phone To The Ground After Homophobic Taylor Swift Taunt
Jason Kelce is going viral for slamming a guy’s phone to the ground after a homophobic Taylor Swift taunt. He’s not having that!
Jason Kelce is seemingly everywhere these days and for good reason! He’s funny and comes off authentic and genuine. He’s relatable and seems like a good dude. However, it seems like he’s not one to cross. He made an appearance on College GameDay over the weekend while on location at Penn State University for a big game between Penn State and Ohio State. Things got a little crazy and out-of-hand during the event which ended in Kelce slamming a dude’s phone to the ground after taunting him with some homophobic remarks regarding Taylor Swift.
Why Did Jason Kelce Slam A Guy’s Phone On The Ground?
Jason Kelce is a popular guy. You know that because he appears in basically every advertisement on TV. He also has one of the more popular podcasts in the world with The New Heights podcast that he does with his brother Travis Kelce. That name sound familiar? He’s a 3-time Super Bowl champion…and he happens to be dating one Taylor Swift…if you haven’t heard.
Jason had a humorous appearance on the show. He was trying to kick field goals while wearing some Timberlands which you have to imagine would be difficult. It looks like it as he shanked both of his kicks far left. However, that’s not what ended up grabbing headlines. As Kelce was leaving, fans were following him and begging for high fives, fist-pounds, and acknowledgements. He seemed to be doing a good job ignoring all of it until one guy crossed the line. One person can be heard off camera making a comment saying that his brother Travis is a “f—– for dating Taylor Swift.” I censored the word. It’s a homophobic word starting with the letter “F.” Well, Jason Kelce couldn’t ignore the comments any longer. He was captured on video snapping on the guy, grabbing his phone, and smashing it onto the ground before replying, “who’s the f—– now?”
Now, this seems to have the internet divided. Many people are supporting Kelce saying how inappropriate the comment was and how it’s crazy that they swarmed him like this and he has to go through it all the time and constantly be hearing comments like that. However, that doesn’t necessarily give him the right to say that word back to the guy. It’s a harsh word that nobody likes to hear. So, even though he was upset and giving the guy a taste of his own medicine, maybe he shouldn’t have actually used the word as well. Some people online didn’t like that. However, it seems like ESPN is aware and is taking Jason’s side on the matter.
PEOPLE reached out to a representative for a comment from Jason and ESPN but didn’t immediately receive a response. You can see the viral videos for yourself below. What do you think?
