Watch People Fainting and Losing Their Minds After Seeing “The Exorcist” in 1973
See People React to “The Exorcist” back in 1973
We are fans of these flashback videos. There are a few social media accounts that bring us glimpses of what life used to be like. Accounts that drop gems from the 80’s, 90’s and more. There is one account that provided us with a reminder of what people thought of ‘The Exorcist” back when it came out in 1973, and we appreciate them.
The Instagram account, _Cinearts_ , shared footage from the original release of “The Exorcist” in 1973. You can see the audience members noticeably shaken up. Some of them are fainting, some look so disturbed they might never recover, and some were even throwing up. We know that “The Exorcist” is typically chosen atop the list of scariest movies of all time. And especially in 1973, people hadn’t really ever seen anything like that on the big screen, if at all.
Old Movie Audience Reactions
As I stated above, we are fans of these types of videos. For example, we watched audience reactions to the 1979 original release of “Alien”. There were some parents in Texas who brought their children to see it and we couldn’t stop laughing at the kid’s reactions. Some of them looked so terrified, we wondered if they ever fully recovered. Check out the Peep Show we made, Child Traumatized By Movie, and see what we had to say about it.
Scary Movies
According to IMDB, “The Exorcist” is ranked as the scariest movie of all time. The list they provided is for the 100 Scariest Movies of All Time and think of how many movies have come out since. The 1973 classic still outranks many that have come after it and we can only imagine what it was like for those people in 1973. Well, thanks to this post, some of us don’t have to wonder, we can see it.
