Man Tries To Bring 10-Foot Python In His Carry-On Luggage
A man tried to bring a 10-foot python in his carry-on luggage! Yeah, you can’t do that!
There are many things that you should know you can’t bring on a plane in your carry-on luggage. You can’t bring a loaded gun, drugs, large shampoo bottles, and a 10-foot python. Maybe the last one isn’t mentioned as much as the others but that’s probably because nobody expects you to bring a 10-foot python onto a plane in your carry-on luggage! Where’s Samuel L. Jackson when you need him?
Did A Man Try To Sneak A Snake In His Carry-On Luggage?
The incident happened while going through security at the Tashkent airport in Uzbekistan. We don’t often talk about stories out of Uzbekistan but it can’t be the first time? None come to mind though. I can’t believe he thought he’d get away with bringing a snake on a plane.. Surely, someone was going to notice.
According to Metro, customs officers at the airport were given a surprise when they found a massive albino Burmese python in the man’s carry-on luggage. Video taken from the scene appears to show the suspect going through his bag at customs and then pulling out the 10-foot long snake that was curled up asleep inside. Naturally, he was arrested and the Customs Department for the Tashkent region said in a statement to Metro, “The attempt to smuggle a three-metre snake at the ‘Gishtkuprik’ border customs post was uncovered.” He continued, “Inside, a snake, which had not been declared verbally to customs officers or in the passenger’s customs declaration, was discovered.” This thing is huge!
The snake is believed to be a tiger albino python which is native to South and Southeast Asia. Customs tells Metro in a statement, “Since this animal is listed in the International Red Book, international CITIES permission is required to import it into the Republic of Uzbekistan. However, in the case above, the passenger was unable to present such documents to the customs officers. An investigation is currently being conducted by the customs authorities. The snake has been handed over to the Tashkent Zoo, where specialists have assessed its condition as healthy.”
Imagine being behind that guy in line while entering customs. It’s crazy what people think they can sneak past airport officials. A snake that big is sure to be found! It makes you wonder what else people are bringing onto planes that aren’t found. It’s scary to think about! Thankfully, this was found and the reptile seems to be in good health and okay.
