Mmmm who doesn't love a good donut? And we're not talking about Krispy Kreme or Dunkin. We love being able to try different flavors and creations than your usual glaze/frosted options at bigger chains. Yelp recently released the places for best donuts in Florida and for each state. Here's their pick for the Sunshine State.
Did you know National Donut Day is June 7? How will you be celebrating? By brining in some donuts to your work? Or heading to your favorite Tampa donut spot for a quick treat. We'll get to our favorite spots soon.
Where Can You Find The Best Donuts In Florida?
According to Yelp Elite Squad, the best donut in Florida goes to Donnie's Donuts. Now we won't lie, their donuts look fantastic, but they are located all the way in Daytona Beach, so we probably won't be trying them anytime soon and will have to trust Yelp's experts pick.
Donnie's Donuts has even earned some love from The Food Network. Tyler Florence visited the shop in 2019 for The Extra Mile feature.
Donnie's Donuts has some serious flavor combos for their specialty donuts. I think the "Seabreeze" sounds the best: whipped caramel icing spread delicately over a donut with a dusting of sea salt, buttery streusel and covered with a caramel drizzle.
Where Are The Best Donuts In Tampa?

An honorary mention is the Craving Donuts food truck! I tried this chocolate peanut butter donut at Armature Works a while ago and the donuts were so warm, moist, and delicious!
Since National Donut Day is a few days away and most of us probably won't take a cross-state road trip to try the best donuts in Florida. Here are some of our favorite Tampa Bay donut shops:
- Hole In One Donuts
- Nicola's Donuts
- Elevation Coffee Roasters
- Local Mini Donut co.
- SuperNatural Food & Wine
Mini doughnuts were all the rage a few years ago. My favorite spot in South Tampa shut down a while back but there are still a few shops around the Tampa area where you can splurge... in a small way on this National Doughnut Day.
These shops have shrunk the guilt with over the top flavors from your favorite childhood cereals... to even fair foods like cotton candy. Take a look at this list and decide which one you want to try first.

Saw their food truck in New Port Richey at Chasco Fiesta. The red velvet mini was awesome. I'm told the cinnamon sugar is good too.
