Tampa Improv Rebrands To ‘Funny Bone Comedy Club’ in Ybor City

After bringing laughter and comedy to the people of Tampa Bay for over 20 years, the Tampa Improv has rebranded to the Funny Bone Comedy Club & Restaurant in Ybor City. You might be asking yourself, “what’s changing with the club after a rebrand?” We’re here to tell you.

After making it’s official announcement, The Funny Bone Comedy Club & Restaurant will transform the classic Centro Ybor location into the next Funny Bone location. Funny Bone has committed to carrying on the legacy that the Tampa Improv has cultivated over the past 20 years.

What is the History of Tampa Improv?

The Tampa Improv first opened its doors in 2001 as a source of comedy and laughter. It spent over two decades bringing together “world class comedians and earning unwavering support from its loyal fans,” says the Tampa Latest.

The inside space bolstered a restored Español Building of the original theater and has balcony seating. The Tampa Improv has been the cornerstone of family, friends and fun for decades.

What is Funny Bone Comedy Club?

Funny Bone first opened its doors in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mitch Kutash and Gerald Kubach are co-founders that share their passion for comedy that has been serving the communities for over 30 years. Funny Bone clubs can be found in over 25 different markets.

You can see up and coming local talents on the stage as well as world class comedians. Some of the biggest in comedy have stood on the Funny Bone stage. They include Jerry Seinfield, Tim Allen, Kevin Hart, Chris Rock and more. The Funny Bone Comedy Club says their vision aligns with the Tampa Improv. They will stay true to the roots that have been with this venue since day 1. 

They pride themselves on being more than just a comedy club. The Funny Bone  states that they are the largest privately owned comedy venue in the United States. They host charity fundraisers, corporate parties, and family-friendly shows for everyone to enjoy.
