Tampa Might Get a Motley Crue & Def Leppard Show After All
Tampa has waited. The Stadium Tour with Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Poison and Joan Jett passed us by. There were stops on the tour in Miami, Orlando and Jacksonville – but for whatever reason, The Stadium Tour never made it to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. And now the tour is over. It wrapped up at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas Friday night. But now we’re hearing the tour, at least in part, might not be over after all. But Tampa fans are going to have to be patient.
Motley Crue’s Vince Neil talked to a Vegas newspaper to promote that concert Friday night. Vince says this comeback wasn’t just for one tour. The band that called it quits… even signed a document saying they’ll never tour again – is planning to tour again. And the tour will look a lot like The Stadium Tour. Neil tells the Review Journal that Crue will continue to tour with Def Leppard next year in Mexico, South America and Europe. Then in 2024, they’ll be back in the United States. Vince goes on to say there will likely be some kind of Vegas residency too.
So… a Motley Crue & Def Leppard tour at Ray Jay in 2024? It could happen. They weren’t mentioned in the article but I’ve gotta say I really hope Poison is on board because they definitely stole the show in Orlando at Camping World Stadium. Vince did his typical winded karaoke-style vocals. Def Leppard never really got to an energy level that touched their 80s performances. But Poison brought it from song 1 until they left the stage. Bret Michaels was having … sorry “Nothin’ But A Good Time” while Vince Neil and Joe Elliott seemed to be going through the motions. [Source: Las Vegas Review-Journal]
