It’s a terrifying scenario for sure. A couple was driving along the Florida Turnpike in their van when they lost control and drove directly into a pond. That’s not the bad part. The pond was filled with countless alligators. So many in fact, that police snipers were called to protect the victims and rescue personnel as they pulled the pair from the gator-infested waters. According to the police report, the pair was traveling south on the Florida Turnpike when they attempted to take an exit, but lost control and wound up in the water. Aerial surveillance showed mulriple alligators throughout the pond as first responders prepared to enter the water and rescue the man and woman. Snipers could be seen at various locations around the water, lying on the ground and pointing their high-powered rifles at the reptiles. Divers were able to reach the vehicle, which had overturned during the crash, and extricate both passengers. Police say the driver passed away from injuries sustained during the crash, while the passenger remains in the hospital in critical condition. Source: MediaIte.com
