Wig Thieves Lead Tampa Cops on High Speed Chase

A group of Tampa wig thieves is behind bars after they screwed up the burglaries of two J Lo Beauty Supply stores Monday night. According to Tampa Bay Times, Travis Bolden, 37, and Keave Worthen, 20, broke through the roof of the first store at around 2 a.m. and made off with thousands of dollars in wigs and cash, police say. They were then driven by two women in separate cars to a different location, where they broke in using a less-discreet method; they smashed through the front window with an ax. Although passing police officers didn't notice the broken window, they did find it unusual that two men were leaving the wig store with dozens of wigs in the middle of the night, a police report reveals. With each of the wig thieves in a separate car, the getaway drivers led police on a chase that ended when one of the cars crashed into a police car, breaking the officer's ankle, police say. The men and their female accomplices are facing charges of burglary and grand theft, court documents reveal.
