Florida Man Wakes With Headache, Discovers He’s Been Shot
We’ve all hopped out of bed feeling a little rough. Whether it’s due to a wild night or too little rest, a headache first thing in the morning just sucks. Sheriff’s deputies in St. Lucie County say a woman has been arrested after a strange case of a headache and a related shooting earlier this week. Investigators say a man woke up early Tuesday morning with a splitting headache. Fearing he had suffered an aneurism or some other brain injury, the man insisted that they go immediately to have it checked out. When he and his wife showed up at a local hospital at about 4:45 am for an examination, doctors discovered the pain was not due to a brain aneurism, but a gun shot to the head. In fact, the bullet was still lodged in his skull. Officers theorized initally that Michael Eugene Moylan had been the victim of a stray bullet. That theory went out the window after the couple’s stories of the incident did not coincide. While the man said he woke up with the headache and no explanation for it, the woman eventually told them she had accidentally shot her husband in the head while he was lying in bed. A ballistics report also indicated that the gunshot wound was made at close range by someone who was in the house at the time. During a subsequent investigation, April Moylan admitted to police that she had shot her husband, although she insisted it was an accident. The man did not undergo surgery for the gunshot, but he was remved and taken to a trauma center for treatment. Source: HeraldTribune.com
