You really never know what’s going to happen on the show. Whether it be a crazy news story, one of us experiencing something in our lives, or a listener sharing a wild tale. Well, today during a segment of ‘Is it Weird’, we were introduced to ‘Lightning Ass’. A spontaneous pain in your rectum, that feels like anal cramping or a charley-horse, is way more common then we ever imagined.
We were taking calls on the weird things people do, when we received a text from a listener about their anal cramping. They wanted to know if that was weird. We had not heard of it before so we needed more information. We called the person, assuming it was going to be a man, but we were shocked to find out it was actually a woman who was experiencing this anal cramping.
She shared with us what happens. It’s spontaneous, and feels like she’s being stabbed in the backdoor by a sword. Listener after listener started contacting us about feeling the same thing. Obviously, it’s something that was covered years ago by the news publications but somehow we missed this condition.
We do discuss some ridiculous stuff here on the show, but every so often we encounter something that actually helps people. Many listeners didn’t know what they were experiencing, and even our original texter had to explain to her doctor what she was suffering from. The clinical term is ‘Proctalgia Fugax’ and it took over our show for quite some time. I’d liken this conversation to the one we had years ago about butthole pinworms.
