AMC Theatres Selling A Special ‘Beetlejuice’ Beverage For $31
AMC Theatres is selling a special Beetlejuice beverage for $31! Move over Honey Deuce, there’s a new ridiculously expensive viral drink in town.
The Honey Deuce cocktail at the US Open recently went viral for how many they are selling–and its crazy price of $23. However, it comes with top shelf vodka and is a trend on social media. Now, this $31 Beetlejuice beverage is coming for its throne of wildly over-priced drinks.
What Is The Beetlejuice Beverage At AMC Theatres?
Let’s be honest, concession stands are famous for being overpriced. That’s not to say it’s not worth it–you can’t enjoy a movie without a big drink and some buttery popcorn. Now, AMC Theatres is taking that up a notch with the $31 promotional drink for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
What’s in the Beetlejuice beverage? According to The Hollywood Reporter, it’s called the Sandworm Slayer and it even comes topped with gummy worms. It’s a 24-ounce blue cocktail made with blue and black raspberry juice and allegedly premium vodka, per The Hollywood Reporter. However, no brand is named so it’s a bit questionable right now. At that price it better be the best vodka on the market.
Thankfully, it only runs for $21 in most places but will end up being an all-in cost around $31 in the state of Illinois if you opt for the 24-ounce version. I guess Illinois has some unique liquor pricing laws that will make the drink more expensive there, per The Hollywood Reporter. Of course, that price is before tip as the popular Beetlejuice beverage is being served at AMC’s MacGuffins bar where you should tip your sever or bartender. It was pointed out that the picture going viral about the $31 drink was from California so not sure why the price was that high there.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, AMC says, “like so many of our movie-tie-in drinks, is wildly popular across the AMC circuit and sold very well during the weekend.” There have been many movie promotional items at theatres that have gone viral recently. That includes the popcorn bucket for Dune 2 and the popcorn bucket for Deadpool. Hey, anyway to make a buck. I’m not going to lie it looks refreshing and delicious! I would just have a hard time paying that much money for a single drink when it could end up buying you a pretty nice bottle of booze elsewhere. It’s simple economics. However, if your social media needs some clout it might be for you!
